How MathPath AI is organized
Subjects (5) → Lessons (32) → Concepts (194). Each Lesson teaches several Concepts, with Practice (open-book) and Quizzes (scored). Scored work updates your Skills Check — your concept-by-concept standing.
Lessons teach Concepts → Quizzes test Concepts → your Skills Check shows what you've mastered.

1. Your home base
Get there: it's the first screen after you log in. From anywhere, tap Home (house icon, top-left).
What it is: your Dashboard. The middle row holds the three ways to find what to work on — Smart Start, Assessments, Skills Check. Around them: Browse Lessons, Resume (your last Lesson), My Classes & Assignments (what your teacher assigned), and My Progress (top-right). Lower down sits Math Fact Flashcards — quick memorization drills for Addition, Multiplication, Perfect Squares, and Square Roots.
▸ Try it: Find the three middle-row cards — you'll use each one in this guide — then scroll down and run a few Math Fact Flashcards.
2. Smart Start
Get there: Dashboard → Smart Start card (middle row, left, ✨).
What it is: a short, low-pressure placement — not a test, nothing scored. For each Lesson it shows a few questions; answer them or tap "I'm confident — skip to the next lesson." Then it suggests where to begin.
▸ Try it: Run it once, start to finish. Use the confident-skip button on anything that feels easy.
3. Browse Lessons & the A–Z Concept Search
Get there:
- Browse Lessons — Dashboard, top-left card (walks Subject → Lesson).
- A–Z Concept Search — scroll to All Subjects; the 🔤 button sits above the Subject cards.
What it is: two ways to find material. A–Z jumps you to the Lesson for any Concept — or starts a 5- or 10-question Practice set on just that Concept.
▸ Try it: In A–Z, type adding fractions or factorials and start a 5-question Practice set.
4. Inside a Lesson
Get there: open any Lesson from Browse Lessons or My Classes & Assignments. Four tabs across the top: Lesson · Practice · Quiz · AI Tutor.
What it is: the Lesson content plus tools —
- Glossary — tap any bold term (or Open Glossary, top-right of the Lesson).
- 🧠 Brain Button — on a worked example, get alternative explanations. Tap to cycle or hide.
- Formulas & Calculator — appear once you're in a Practice set or Quiz (top-right of the question): the GED® & HiSET® formula sheets and an on-screen practice calculator. (Test day uses a TI-30XS MultiView™ — get comfortable with a real one too.)
▸ Try it: Tap a worked example's 🧠; then start a Practice set and open Formulas (switch GED ↔︎ HiSET) and the Calculator.
5. Practice vs. Quiz
Get there: the Practice and Quiz tabs inside any Lesson. Pick a level first.
What it is: two modes, on purpose.
- Practice — open-book; use the AI Tutor, get things wrong. Doesn't count.
- Quiz — scored; this is what feeds your Skills Check.
- Levels — Foundational (below test) · Test Ready (on-test) · Challenge (above) · Mixed (Practice only).
▸ Try it: Warm up with a Practice set, then take the Quiz. Notice Practice never changes your standing.
6. The AI Tutor
Get there:
- The AI Tutor tab inside a Lesson (helps with that Lesson).
- The "I still don't get it" button on any answered Practice or Quiz question — it opens the AI Tutor on that problem.
What it is: it teaches the concept behind a problem — it won't just hand you the answer.
▸ Try it: In a Lesson, open the AI Tutor tab and ask for a hint. It's patient and available 24/7.
7. Progress & Quiz History
Get there:
- My Progress — top of your Dashboard (every Lesson's status).
- Quiz History — the clock icon, bottom-right of the screen.
What it is: My Progress shows passed / in progress / not started. Quiz History reopens any past Quiz — see what you missed, with the explanation, filtered by Lesson. Each Quiz carries a Level chip.
▸ Try it: Open a past Quiz and review a question you missed.
8. Assessments
Get there: Dashboard → Assessments card (middle row, center, 📋) — pick a Subject Assessment or a Lesson Assessment. Or from Skills Check: "Assess this subject ›" / "Assess this lesson ›."
What it is: a scored check that samples a whole Subject (Subject Assessment) or one Lesson (Lesson Assessment) to surface your weak Concepts. Every Concept it tests updates your Skills Check — retake anytime.
▸ Try it: Take a Lesson Assessment on one Lesson (or a Subject Assessment across a whole Subject), then follow the link to your Skills Check to see what it filled in.
9. Skills Check
Get there: Dashboard → Skills Check card (middle row, right). Drill: Subjects → Lessons → Concepts.
What it is: your standing on all 194 Concepts, built only from scored work (Quizzes, Assessments, teacher tests). See Assessed and Proficient per Concept (bars: green = proficient, amber = not there yet, empty = untested). Beside any Concept, "Check this concept ›" starts a Practice set on it.
▸ Try it: Drill into a Lesson marked "Not yet assessed" and tap "Assess this lesson ›" — the fastest way to fill a blank Lesson. (Study it first.)
10. Getting help
Get there:
- Help — top header bar (common questions, A–Z Concept locator, an Ask the Help Assistant box).
- Feedback — bottom-right of every screen (report a bug or a confusing question).
